POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS available to study the molecular and cell biology of neural degeneration in the mammalian retina, with particular emphasis on the area of cell polarity, protein trafficking, signaling, and morphogenesis of photoreceptors and retinal pigment epithelial cells. Successful candidate may also help to develop approaches for neural regeneration. Strategies include producing genetically modified animal models for stem cells isolation/characterization/transplant therapy. Our studies used techniques including molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, mouse genetics, confocal/electron microscopy, proteomics, gene arrays, and in vivo retina/brain transfection, and have been published in Cell, Developmental Cell, Journal of Cell Biology, Journal of Clinical Investigation, PNAS, and other high impact journals. We are seeking applicants with a strong drive and a solid background in related areas. Interested applicants should send a letter describing your research interest and a CV to Ching-Hwa Sung, Ph.D. chsung@med.cornell.edu, LC313, Dyson Vision Research Institute, Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York, NY 10021
